It's all about the wordballs.
Apparently "balls" is Jason Mraz's new favorite curse word. Well, he's two years behind the Awesome Department, but I definitely approve!! <3 <3 <3 I'm going to start saying "Son of a balls!" I've used the word in many many contexts, but that's a new one for me! Good work, my clever lover.

I just took my final for that one class about Rome or sumfink or nuffing. It was great fun! :/ But here's what I realized -- aside from Friday's Latin final, I am done with Classics! Whoa... Weird.

I now have about 29 hours to write the following:
- two 4-page MAXIMUM essay answers for the African Cinema final
- one 8-page paper about South African Cinema

This is going to SUUUUUCK!

I spied on Mitzi using Last.fm and saw that she was listening to a lot of music by a band called The Zutons. So I downloaded an album and am loving it. THANK YOU TO MITZI! That website is the best thing ever. Glorious.

Africa.

I'm kissin rainbows in the sky...
Gaaah only 30 minutes until I leave for my 3-hour EAP orientation. I'm so nervous! Meeting large amounts of new people makes my tummy churn a little. However, I couldn't be more excited to learn all about how amazing my year is going to be next year. Jesus, I am so lucky to be able to do this. I have to remember to never stop being thankful. If you ever hear me complain about anything that has to do with me studying abroad, you have the permission to slap me in the face.

If I were one of the people running this orientation, I would provide the students with treats from their host countries... Like, um, Jaffa Cakes? [Can you tell how badly I want some more of those delicious, heaven-sent biscuits??? I keep bringing them up. I'm sorry.]

Can I just say that Jason Mraz has the longest fingernails I've ever seen on a dude? It's a little bit of a turn off, I have to say... But he's still my man. And this song is really hilarious.

Guess who will be of legal drinking age in precisely one week? Weeeee!

I didn't sleep last night; it wasn't for my lack of trying...
Two awesome/dorky programs you should download if you have a Mac:

1. HandBrake. A very easy (and free) way to get movies or TV show episodes from your DVDs to your iPod.
2. WireTap. I just used it to get a new [to me] Jason Mraz song from his MySpace to my iTunes. It records sound directly from your sound card, so there isn't any outside noise or anything. It sounds really good! The website says you have to pay, but I didn't and it works fine so far. (When I first opened the program, it said it was just a trial version & that there are some features that won't work... But it also said that the trial version never expired. And I didn't find myself needing anything that I couldn't use.)

Hooray.

If you want Jason's song, here ya go. It's super pretty and I can DEFINITELY relate to it. *emosigh*

Goodnight, lovelies. Happy happy birthday to two of my favorite women, Brittny Stout and Leah Gordon.

Mentally Making Out with Mraz :)
Hello. I am currently pretending that Jason wrote this song about me and NOT about one of the few TV shows I'm not in any way interested in... Muahahahaha!

Did you get my message, the one I sent?
Jason's CD is amazing. The Villa Montalvo half sounds sooo good. And it seems like the Schuba's show was just as wonderful (and more intimate -- I'm jealous), so basically it's perfect.

So far, I think my favorite parts are:

- The Schuba's "Did You Get My Message" rehearsal/song
- Snakes in Schuba's! HAHAHAHA.
- "God Rests In Reason"
- "10,000 Motherf*ckers" (this song brought me to tears when I first heard it at the concert)

He is a genius. I love him. I wish I was at a Jason concert RIGHT NOW... Although I sorta feel like I am when I close my eyes. I'm hoping he'll do a UK tour next year. Would that be rad or what? He'd totally go to Glasgow.

So I had two finals today. First Latin and then Costumes. I was up so late Sunday night finishing my Classics paper, that I got tired really early last night and somehow thought it would be a good idea to go to sleep at 10 with a plan to wake up at 5:00. 5:00??? Why did I do this? I actually did get myself up, but as a result I feel like it's about midnight right now. It's not even 4:30.

I did about as well as I expected on my Costumes project, and I think I did okay on my final... So I'm REALLY hoping for a B. Please please please! And Latin went okay too... I could have done so much better if I'd tried harder. But I certainly didn't fail or anything. I'm just really dissapointed in myself today. Ah well.

My next final isn't until Thursday night (two down, two to go), so I'm giving myself the rest of the day today to slack off. Otherwise I will go crazy. I watched two episodes of LOST with C-Bat and B-Dizzle ("House of the Rising Sun" and "Numbers") and now I feel inspired to go back to my sweat video. I'm gonna see if I can't figure out this Final Cut Express business.

Oh. And I stupidly sent someone a message today because he was on MySpace at the same time as me, which I thought was sort of special 'cause of the 8 hour time difference. He read it but didn't respond, of course. I am so annoying. Why must I annoy people so? :(

Time to experiment with Final Cut now! Byes.

EDIT: I take back what I just said about MySpace... Hmm.

I am a stabbing robot. I will stab you.
LIVEJOURNAL IS A MAGICAL LAND! Oooo so pretty!

Hello. I am in a good mood. The reasons:

1) 30 Rock was sooooo effing good tonight! One of my favorite episodes. Brilliant acting by Tracy Morgan. A not-so-exciting appearance by Chris Parnell, but even Dr. Spaceman can't bring down a fantastic half hour of wonderful television.

2) I just noticed that Jason put his own version of "Winter Wonderland" on MySpace, and it is very precious and amazing. And now it's on my page, duh. Eeeee! Only 5 more days until all my Mrazzy dreams come true.

3) SPEAKING OF COUNTDOWNS, ONLY TWO MORE MONTHS UNTIL LOST. It's December 7th! I did a "Two More Months Dance" for Val and Mitzi this morning, but they were not amused. But that's okay because we still had plenty of laughs down in the old kitch-kitch this morn'. Anyhoo, exactly two sevenths of the month from today, I'll be ditching next quarter's Wednesday night Shakespeare class and dying of exhilaration and joy. PREDICTIONS: I will yell "WAAAAAALT" approximately 243 times. I will make the best strawberry-flavored Fish Biscuits this side of the Mississippi. I will not let anybody tell me what I can't do. I will listen to a short playlist comprised of "Make Your Own Kind of Music" and "Downtown" on repeat until my eardrums burst. The Others will come and steal my baby. I will kill a man just so I can get crunk with Sawyer. Heck, make it 20 men. And the most likely of all, being around several other people just as creepily excited as me will only make it worse; the fangirliness will soar to unprecedented extremes.

4) Chicken Flavor Top Ramen is rocking my world this week. I've had it once a day every day since Monday. And this shall continue until the end of time. Yum yum yum.

5) Tomorrow we're going to see The Holiday. I am more than excited. But it would be much more exciting if the only theatre in Santa Barbara showing The Pick of Destiny had decided to keep playing it JUST ONE MORE DAY! The original plan was to do a Jables double feature, but now that's shot to hell. And I never saw it even though I am already obsessed with it and I am a horrible fan. BOOOOO.

6) I turned in my research project, so I don't have to stress about it anymore. Unfortunately, it was rather incomplete, but it looked damn good. I spent too much time organizing and not enough time researching, but it's sooo pretty! I'd rather have a pretty, but incomplete project than a horribly disorganized and fugly complete one. But most of all, I'd like to have a pretty A+++ quality project. I am a failure. But, as I said, I'm in a good mood. And that's because there's nothing I can do now and I won't find out my grade until Tuesday so I can live in blissful ignorance until then. And in the Classics realm, Gallucci is my lover because he said we can turn in our papers on Monday. Praise Zeus and all his 170+ lovers. Amen.

So now, instead of pulling another "almost-all-nighter-if-it-weren't-for-the-early-morning-catnap" writing my classics paper, I'm just going to snuggle into bed and read a little of the best book of all time (forgive me if I exaggerate, it's part of my horrible addiction), Finding LOST: The Unofficial Guide. It's hecksa good. Don't judge me! If you are a LOST fan, I know you're jealous. And if you're not a fan, you dumb. :)

I joke.

But seriously, people.

Okay sorry.

Goodnight friends and lovers!

Things I love & stuff.
YES! This video made my day!

Genius!

Tomorrow will be a good day for two reasons:

1) LOOOOOOSSSSSSST!
2) Paolo Nutini will arrive in my mailbox in CD form!

Paolo was on Craig Ferguson last night and he was quite good/hot.

I drove all the way home during my break from classes today because I had two cravings:

1) Boboli Pizza
2) LOST puzzle

I'm also listening as my Jason Mraz DVD plays in the background.

Pizza's ready! BYE.

ASDKFJASLDKJFALSKDJFKL!!!!!
So I'm freaking out just a little bit right now. Jason Mraz has updated his profile with a few new songs, one of which is a live recording of "I'm Yours." And why don't you just go ahead and guess which concert it's from? Want to take a little guess? UM, PERHAPS IT IS FROM THE VERY SAME CONCERT I ATTENDED THIS SUMMER. But that is not the coolest part. The coolest part is that it is accompanied by a picture that very much resembles and album cover which reads something like: "Selections for Friends: Live from *somethingicannotread*, Chicago; Montalvo Winery, Saratoga California." DOES THIS MEAN THAT HE WILL BE RELEASING A LIVE RECORDING OF THE BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE?

IS THIS THE COOLEST THING EVER?

AM I A HUGE NERD?

MY VERY OWN CLAPPING/LAUGHING/WOO-ING IS TECHNICALLY AUDIBLE ON THIS VERSION. I am a part of Jason Mraz history.

WOW. I LOVE HIM SO VERY MUCH.

I also love Toca. Toca + Jason = OTP.

WOOOOOO!

This afternoon, I had the sudden impulse to make cookies. I looked through my recipes and realized we already had the ingredients in the house to make Claire's favorite peanut butter cookies, so I went for it. I owe a big "WAZZUP!" to Mitzi and Starr, who respectively donated an egg willingly and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract unknowingly. Upon completion of my li'l baking project, I was pretty sure I might have made the best peanut butter cookies ever. This was confirmed just now when I ate two and died of pleasure.

P.S. They were made with GENUINE DHARMA PEANUT BUTTER.

Which leads me to my next topic, ZOMG LESS THAN AN HOUR AND A HALF UNTIL LOST! My homework is going very slowly. I do not want to have to do more after the show. I can't think about REAL life after an hour of LOST! Geeeez! Plus I have to watch 30 Rock at 8. I will probably also study my map of Greece at the same time.

I like people who sing lyrics like this:

I settled down in San Diego
And smoked a joint with Java Joe
And with a grin he took me in
(I spilled coffee on my chin)
And I played my show there
I met by bitches and hos there...

Which reminds me, this totally made me want to play Scrabble. Check it out even if you don't give a crap about Jason Mraz. It is slightly inspirational, in a board-gamey kind of way.

Today I called Dahlia and it was the best decision of my life. I FRIGGIN LOVE HER. Can't wait for Thanksgiving now.

I miss my family. I want them to come visit. And to bring my puppy baby.

Uhhhhhh yeah. I met a cool girl in my drama class today. She has a slight Australian accent. We are going to do a group project together. I like meeting nice people.

In my other drama class--the costume practicum one--we had to learn how to sew. Except I secretly already knew, especially since we were using Bernina machines almost EXACTLY like the one I have at home. I could have done every single thing she asked us to do today without the 45 minute instructional portion. But it was cool, because I pretended like I had never sewn before and it made me look SUPER talented. I finished before everyone else and got to leave early. Weeeeee!

This, I believe is all for now. Back to Latin.

But first, look what I can say now:

Numeri mali sunt! Numeri mali sunt!
PUER MEUS!
Viri boni sumus, Michael.

Yay a music meme!
I stole this from [info]thereisnosp00n.

1. If you could pick your own theme song, what would it be? "Alone Again, Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan. Naah, just kidding. But seriously, that's my answer.
2. Now be honest...if others had to pick a song that described you, what would they choose? "Superfreak" by Rick James!
3. What song would be/was the first dance at your wedding? "God Moves Through You" by Jason Mraz (don't be confused, it's not actually that religious)
4. What song gets stuck in your head most often? "London Bridge" by Fergie
5. What song would you want played at your funeral? "Life and Death" from the LOST soundtrack... HAHA! I'm cool.

Brittny is here! Or she was, now she's gone again. But her stuff is here! Hoorayyyy!

I am watching Family Matters. Why am I not watching LOST? I'm going to fix this problem immediately. Goodbye!
