You All Everybody

This post is whinier than I intended it to be.
I think today is going to be the one day I skip class this summer because I really really really don't feel like going. That is my best reason. I just don't feel like driving all the way to campus and sitting through a boring lecture. I don't think I'll miss anything too important; we'll be discussing the same play tomorrow as well. Some people have only come to approximately 3 classes over the past five weeks, however, so me missing one out of 22 lectures is not all that bad, right?

So rumor has it that one of our beloved former LOST cast members will be returning to us as a regular in the fourth season. Actually it's not a rumor at all, it was confirmed today by Stephen McPherson, the president of ABC. Would you like to know who it is? Of course you would! )

I can't wait to hear more juicy news after they release it at Comic Con this weekend.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I won't be going to class.

My hair is so stupid. There's this spot on the back left part of my head that will not -- WILL NOT -- straighten out. No matter how many times I run the flat iron over it, NOTHING. It looks like I'm lazy and don't pay enough attention to the back of my head, but the reality is that I have freakishly curly hair right in that spot. The whole back top layer of my hair is pretty damn wavy, but I can usually get the entire right side straight. What the hell? The rest of my hair is pretty agreeable. The bottom layer doesn't even really need the flat iron. Why does the texture of my hair vary so? If somebody saw me from the right side, they'd be like "Oh, that girl did a nice job fixing her hair." But then they'd see me from any other angle and be like "WTF?!" It's so dumb. Even Veronika, the hairstylist, thinks so. She didn't use the word "dumb," but she certainly expressed her frustration. You're telling me, lady. I have to deal with that shit every day.

While on the topic of asymmetry, DAMN YOU SCOLIOSIS! I am so sick and tired of having and S-shaped spine! Of course, it's not really all that bad -- medically. I never had to have surgery or a brace or anything like that... No pain as a result of it. It's just the way it looks, really. Everybody else says they can't even notice that one of my shoulders is higher and one of my hips is waaay bigger. But I notice it. I notice it all the time. Especially because shirts and jeans often fit me weird just because of it. The seams on shirts hit me in different spots on either side. The left side is always fine, but the right seam is usually a little bit forward. Even if I fix it, it finds its way back. The fly on my jeans is usually not centered either. I HATE ASYMMETRY. It really bugs the OCD side of me to no end. It took me many, many years to be convinced that I should have a side part in my hair. Wow, that was rough. Now I realize that I looked like a crazy hippie four years ago when I had long hair parted in the middle with no bangs, but it was symmetrical and I liked that. Now I have bangs that sweep over to the right side, which is actually okay because there's a birthmark on my left cheek. It's all about balance.

One of my eyebrows currently ends several milimeters further away from my nose than the other one. It's awful. Thanks, eyebrow threading lady (I should really know her name by now...). Seriously, she's awesome, but this time I was not pleased. I can't look in the mirror without noticing the damn asymmetry. All over my frickin' body.

It's officially too late for me to leave for class now. Oh well.

I think I'll go to the store and buy chips for the BBQ instead. Then I might do some reading since I feel guilty about not going to class. I am getting lazy. I'm ready for it to be August so I can not be in school/focus solely on getting ready for Scotland.
