You All Everybody

Boyakasha.
I just read on my favorite website, the BBC Scotland news page, that Apple just opened its first Scottish store iiiiiinnnnn... GLASGOW! I win. WINNER. I don't know why it really matters, but I like it. It's like Apple is following me... First I spend my entire life (minus three college years) in Cupertino, HOME of the Apple computer... And then I decide to leave and Apple is like "Wait! But we don't have stores in Scotland! Ohhhh, fiiiine, we'll open one right where you're living..."

On a generally unrelated note (though it does tie in slightly because I'm using Apple's excellent video editing software to do this), I have been working on Awesome Department videos all day. I have officially finished going through all the raw footage and it's on my computer now. That was the tedious part, but the editing is the hard part. Luckily, both parts are super fun because I LOVE THE MATERIAL VERY MUCH. I wish I could do your beautiful faces justice in my editing but I could never be that good. So I'm just giving it my best and hoping that's okay! Here's what's on the DVD so far:

- Lonely Loverz
- Mitzi's Room
- Catherine on a bicylcle
- a 5 minute version of our 40 minute tape of the San Miguel lounge door
- the Disneyland video
- the LOST Halloween video
- the secret prank we pulled on Val :)
- Mitzi drunkenly singing Queen
- AJ's Shoe-Hand Man
- me and Starr dancing to "Hit 'Em Up Style"
- the talent show bit Brittny and I did way back in the beginning

I have plans to make the following:

- a Halloween 2004 video
- a Halloween 2005 video
- an abridged version of Val's prank call to Matt Cappi
- a video about Brittny's 20th birthday
- a video about Gospel Choir
- two or three secret random videos I was thinking about

I think I will definitely be able to make all of them, but I am pretty sure there's no way it'll all fit on one DVD... So be prepared to get two or maybe even three, my loves.

ARRRRRRRRGGG. :(
My computer is driving me NUTS. Everyday it does something dumber and dumber. It's a laptop, but it's not actually that portable because the clicker on the mouse portion no longer functions properly, so I have to attach an external mouse which is really inconvenient if I want to sit on the couch or anywhere that doesn't have a flat surface. It takes a lot of effort to get the power thingie in correctly and sometimes it just stops working and I can't figure out why my computer won't turn on and then I realize it's because it's completely drained of power. Everything is really slow, especially things related to the internet (but it's not the internet itself because it's the programs that are taking forever). iMovie randomly shuts down after like three minutes of use. iPhoto no longer exports photos. Occassionally the sound stops working unless I restart it a bunch. A few times, the screen wouldn't show me anything but black. I don't remember how I fixed that problem, but it's been a couple months since that happened. It's driving me crazy and making me worry that it's going to spaz out and die when I'm abroad next year. That would be very bad indeed.

Also, I'm pretty sure the daycare kids are consciously trying to drive me crazy. They start making noise a little before 8:30 every morning, and it usually starts out with lots of repetitive banging that lasts for about an hour straight. This is right during my final sleep moments, and my alarm usually wakes me up from very stressful dreams, set to the pace of the continuous banging. So I wake up stressed out every single morning. This morning I was having a nightmare about my computer going crazy and dying. Less than three more weeks of those stupid demon children.

Can you tell I'm cranky this morning?

It automatically calls your best friend when you need a what what.
Okay, I am seriously the worst homeworker. But here's an informational tidbit for y'all.

Today I was thinking about how wonderfully dead-on Fred Armisen's Steve Jobs impression is. And then I was thinking about how sad I am for knowing this, because it means that I have wasted hours of my life drooling over his crazy keynote speeches. But then I realized that someone over at SNL is just as sad as I am... And I started wondering if this someone was Fred himself. Obviously he has paid close attention to Steve Jobs' mannerisms and delivery, but was this just because someone else asked him to? Knowing that Fred is rather nerdy and into music, he just seems to me like an Apple kind of guy... So I had hope.

Just now I was browsing his MySpace page and found this posted in a blog:

Hello. In case you missed it, here's a link (or cut and paste) to a piece I did on Weekend Update on Saturday. I am obsessed with Steve Jobs' keynote addresses. And I want an iPhone so bad! If there are any better links out there please send them along.

I feel like I need to marry him now. God, I love Fred so much. It also says he's single and [somewhat surprisingly] straight on his profile. So I guess maybe there is hope for me.
